The 34th Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime

NERA Associate Director Robert Patton will participate in a panel discussion at the 34th Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime, which offers a wide variety of sessions aimed at promoting a better understanding of the issues involved in bribery, money laundering, fraud, and other financial crime. The Symposium features more than 600 specialists serving as presenters and discussants in a variety of formats. Attendees include academics, government officials and ministers, judges, regulators, law enforcement officials, bankers, economists, and risk officers from nearly 100 countries.

Mr Patton will join partners from leading law firms, a former regulator, and a government minister in a panel discussion called “The proportionality of penalties applied to financial institutions accused of wrongdoing: Getting the balance right!” Mr Patton will present an analysis of enforcement actions by various global regulators and will also participate in a discussion of the outlook for financial regulatory enforcement.
