Merger Practice Workshop

Washington, DC
28 September 2017
Hosted By: American Bar Association

NERA Academic Affiliate Dr. Elizabeth Bailey will join other leading practitioners, corporate counsel, and government enforcers as faculty at the American Bar Association’s third demonstration-based Merger Practice Workshop. Dr. Bailey will demonstrate the role of the expert economist for the merging parties in front of the antitrust agencies in a complex global merger.

This demonstration-based workshop takes participants inside the life cycle of a hypothetical merger, illustrating elements of the process such as pre-signing antitrust counseling, second request compliance, advocacy to competition authorities, and negotiating remedies and consent decrees. It demonstrates how critical decisions are actually made during a merger, provides examples of important interactions between counsel and enforcers, and highlights new developments in U.S. and international merger enforcement trends.
