NERA Economic Consulting is sponsoring the 22nd Biennial Conference of the International Telecommunications Society (ITS) hosted in Seoul, South Korea.

Senior Consultant Hans-Martin Ihle will present his paper titled “Does the choice of auction format affect prices in spectrum auctions?” The paper is co-authored by Managing Director Richard Marsden and Associate Analyst Peter Traber. The paper provides statistical evidence from recent spectrum auctions supporting the long-held belief that the combinatorial clock auction may lead to higher prices than other open formats in awards of mission-critical spectrum such as sub-1 GHz spectrum in the 4G era.

Managing Director and Chair of NERA’s Global Energy, Environment, Communications & Infrastructure Practice Dr. Christian Dippon will participate in the panel titled “Properly comparing international prices of telecommunication services: Statistical methods and policy implications for the Canadian case study.”
