On 15 September, Managing Director Julie M. Carey and Senior Consultant Julia C. Williams participated in a presentation hosted by the Liquid Energy Pipeline Association (LEPA). The session, titled “Oil and Pipeline Markets Overview,” offered an in-depth exploration of crude oil and refined product global market trends, including implications arising from the war in Ukraine and sanctions on Russia and the economic fundamentals of supply demand and pricing. The experts examined oil pipeline competition and the pressures the industry faces, as well as pipeline development in select shale production basins. The panelists also discussed regulatory and policy trends impacting energy infrastructure projects, including US federal energy transition policy (the Inflation Reduction Act) and the outlook for clean energy, carbon abatement technology, and biofuels.
