Amsterdam, The Netherlands
22 March 2007
Hosted By: Marsh
NERA Vice President Dr. Anne Gron delivered a presentation, based on the latest edition of NERA's semi-annual study, Recent Trends in Shareholder Class Action Litigation: Filings Plummet, Settlements Soar, at a conference hosted by NERA sibling company Marsh in Amsterdam on 22 March 2007. The study concludes that, despite a surge in lawsuits alleging options backdating, shareholder class action filings were down dramatically in 2006, even as settlements of existing cases soared past 2005's record levels. Dr. Gron also participated in a forum discussion on the outlook for potential claims in Europe and how insurers will likely respond.
