Claim Substantiation and Advertising Perception Surveys

Virtual
07 October 2021
Hosted By: NERA Economic Consulting

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that advertisers have a reasonable basis for the marketing and advertising claims that they make about a product. Companies often rely on surveys as one basis for substantiating advertising claims. Surveys can also be used to learn how consumers understand the claims made in an advertisement.

In our webinar “Claim Substantiation and Advertising Perception Surveys” on 7 October, speakers from NERA and BBB National Programs (which includes the National Advertising Division) will discuss the handling of claim substantiation and advertising perception issues by the FTC, State Attorney Generals, and National Advertising Division (NAD); types of claims for which survey evidence may be useful; and recent cases involving survey evidence.

This webinar is the second in our Survey Evidence in Litigation Series this fall. Click here to view the other webinars.
