On 3 December at 9:15 CET, NERA Economic Consulting Director Fernando Jiménez will participate in a discussion titled “Mergers & FDI Screening: Politics and Policy Interplay” at the 9th Annual Concurrences Global Merger Control Conference Mr. Jiménez will be joined by Thales’ Head of Antitrust Céline Darrigade, DG Trésor’s Head of Foreign Investments Control Marie-Anne Lavergne, and DG COMP’s Head of Task Force Third-Country Subsidies Christof Schoser.

As the US and 18 EU Member States now have reinforced or set in place screening of FDI, sovereignty and sustainability climb up the agenda of agencies and governments. The panel in this session, moderated by Dechert Partners Alec Burnside and Sophie Pelé, discuss how these objectives will change the course of merger control, and how lawyers and counsel can integrate these new measures.
