29 March 2023
Hosted By: NERA Economic Consulting and Paris Arbitration Week
NERA Economic Consulting is delighted to sponsor Paris Arbitration Week 2023 (PAW), which will take place between 27–31 March. In its seventh edition, PAW brings together the international arbitration community for a week of professional and academic debates. Last year, PAW drew more than 10,000 global participants. NERA will once again host two events—a webinar and an in-person seminar—as part of PAW’s robust programming.
On 29 March at 14:30 CET, NERA Associate Director Ralph Meghames will moderate a panel of experts in an advanced damages workshop, “Economic Harm: Advanced Topics for Lost Profit and Lost Business Value,” which will include NERA Managing Director and Chair of the Global Energy, Environment, Communications and Infrastructure Practice Dr. Christian Dippon, WilmerHale Partner Steven P. Finizio, Fieldfisher LLP Partner Marily Paralika, Quinn Emanuel Partner Alexander G. Leventhal, and Squire Patton Boggs Partner and Co-head of the International Arbitration Practice Miriam K. Harwood.
The panel will examine two models for calculating damages and compare and contrast lost profits calculations with diminution of business value from an expropriated business. The discussion will focus on the following among others:
NERA’s webinar will take place on 28 March at 14:30 CET and feature a discussion on recent trends in financial disputes in international arbitration.
