New Publication from NERA Economic Consulting Focuses on Climate Change Policy

19 March 2009

19 March/New York -- NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, has released the inaugural edition of its new publication, Climate Policy Economics Insights. Published by the firm's Energy, Environment, and Network Industries (EEN) Practice, Climate Policy Economics Insights offers economic analysis and practical advice from NERA's top climate and environment experts on various aspects of government climate change policies and their implications for industry.

"New policy proposals designed to address climate change are developing rapidly, and are likely to present major challenges to companies operating in virtually every industry -- particularly those that are energy intensive," said Dr. Michael Rosenzweig, Senior Vice President and Chair of the firm's EEN Practice. "Climate Policy Economics Insights provides an economic perspective on the nature of the policy choices, the challenges they pose, their financial implications, and how to grapple with them."

Climate Policy Economics Insights will be published six times a year. Dr. David Harrison, NERA Senior Vice President and head of the firm's Environment Group (Boston), serves as general editor, with Greg Houston (Australia) and Daniel Radov (London) serving as associate editors. Insights articles are written by NERA's leading experts in climate change, environment, energy, transport, and other areas. The first issue looks at the five key questions companies should be trying to answer as they prepare for a mandatory climate change cap-and-trade program (and other policies) in the US, and shows how economic modeling can help industry deal with policy changes and the inevitable uncertainties they create.

Climate Policy Economics Insights is delivered electronically, and subscriptions to the publication are free. For more information, please visit www.nera.com/Newsletters.
