NERA Associate Director Fabrizio Hernández Appointed Secretary of State for Energy of Spain

12 January 2011/New York -- NERA Economic Consulting congratulates Dr. Fabrizio Hernández on his appointment to Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade as Secretary of State for Energy. Dr. Hernández joined NERA in 1997, providing advice to numerous energy companies on gas and electricity projects as an Associate Director in the firm’s Global Energy, Environment, and Network Industries Practice.
In his role as Energy Secretary, Dr. Hernández is broadly responsible for Spain’s energy policy. Specifically, Dr. Hernández will oversee the development of standards on energy and mining in accordance with the law in force; development of regulatory proposals related to pricing structures, energy prices, and access fees; formulation of proposals for energy savings and efficiency, the promotion of renewable energy, energy infrastructure planning; and development and, as appropriate, implementation of measures to ensure security of energy supplies.
