Tokyo—NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Hans-Martin Ihle has joined NERA’s global Auctions Practice as a Senior Consultant based in the firm’s Tokyo office.
“Mr. Ihle brings to NERA nearly a decade of experience in the design and implementation of auctions, with particular expertise in spectrum and energy markets,” said NERA Senior Vice President Richard Marsden. “I welcome Hans to the firm and look forward to working with him as we serve our growing client base across the Asia-Pacific region and across the communications, energy, transportation, and finance sectors.”
In addition to advising government agencies and regulatory bodies on auction design and related policy issues in both spectrum and energy auctions, Mr. Ihle also works with bidders to help them understand auction dynamics and prepare bidding strategies. He has developed software to support bid strategies and to analyze the behavior of other bidders, and he provides on-site client support during the actual auctions. Mr. Ihle holds a MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, where he specialized in industrial organization, game theory, and applied econometrics.
