Mexico's energy reform is moving forward. Changes have been made to the country's Constitution and legal framework that will transform the entire Mexican energy sector. This reform presents important investment opportunities (including both foreign and national private investment) in energy infrastructure projects.

The exact nature of the value proposition for investors will take shape in the near future as the rules that govern the new marketplace are defined and the uncertainties removed. In the meantime, if the reform is to be successful, it will require major efforts and collaboration from all actors in the sector.

A new paper from NERA Economic Consulting examines the ongoing reform process and explores specific changes likely to occur across the energy supply chain -- from exploration, production, refining, transportation, and marketing of hydrocarbons, to generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.
