By Dr. Laura-Lucia Richter

In this article, published in the Fall 2019 edition of the American Bar Association’s Transport, Energy & Antitrust Newsletter, NERA Senior Consultant Dr. Laura-Lucia Richter discusses a recent decision by the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which is likely to set the stage for antitrust analysis in the review of the Sabre/Farelogix transaction.

Dr. Richter also analyzes the economics of multi-sided platforms, and shows that, given the breadth and growth of platform markets in recent years and the expected continuation of this dynamic, a careful analysis that accounts for the dynamics and effects on all sides of a platform market is necessary.
