NERA Consultant Dr. C.-Philipp Heller co-authored an article titled “Congestion Pricing: A Mechanism Design Approach”, published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Transport Economics and Policy. The article suggests a new economic method to use autonomous vehicles to reduce urban road congestion. This new method, based on the economic theory of mechanism design, requires policy makers to have little prior knowledge and is responsive to commuters’ preferences.

This article was published in Volume 53 of the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, released in January 2019.
