Associate Director Dr. Chris Stomberg has published a toolkit on drug rebates and competition for the American Health Law Association Antitrust Practice Group. In “The Role of Rebates in the Pharmaceutical Industry,” Dr. Stomberg gives an overview of the types of rebates used by drug manufacturers to incentivize behaviors like timely payment or high-volume purchasing. He discusses a variety of rebate arrangements associated with different types of drugs, the Medicaid Prescription Drug Rebate Program, and how rebate contracts play a role in defining pharmaceutical industry competition.
