On 15 December, NERA Senior Managing Director Benjamin Chee will participate in the Illinois Power Agency’s (IPA’s) Power Hour in a session titled “The State of Wind Energy.” The webinar will provide an introduction to the progress of wind energy development at the national and state levels. Additionally, the session will include a discussion on market feedback and proposals aimed at enhancing wind project participation in Illinois. Mr. Chee will be joined by IPA Acting Director Brian Granahan, Clean Grid Alliance Senior Counsel and Director of Regulatory Advocacy Sean Brady, and Apex Clean Energy Senior Director of Government Affairs Chris Kunkle.

Mr. Chee will explore the following points:

• The procurement process for utility-scale wind Indexed REC contracts;
• Market feedback on wind project participation; and
• Challenges and barriers of utility-scale wind development in Illinois under RPS.
