Assisting in the Management of Accounting Reserves for Wildfire Liability

NERA assisted a major utility in modeling and managing its accounting reserves for multi-billion dollars in liability for damages caused by two large wildfires. Our work involved developing and updating models of potential total liability and monitoring settlement values compared to the reserve model.
