DAZN is a world-leading sports entertainment company. In Belgium, DAZN offers a wide range of premium sports content, with a particular focus on football. Pro League is the organization that represents professional football clubs in Belgium and organizes the country’s main professional competitions.
In late 2025, Pro League requested arbitration in a dispute with DAZN before the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI) relating to the media rights agreement between the parties for Belgian Pro League football rights covering five seasons from 2025/26 to 2029/30. Following arbitration proceedings, which included an emergency arbitration and interim measures, the parties announced on 29 July 2026 that they had reached a settlement agreement, thereby ending the dispute.
Senior Managing Director David Matthew and Managing Director James Grayburn, instructed as economic experts by Faros and Liedekerke and supported by Director Adrien Cervera-Jackson, Senior Consultant Max Czernin, Consultant James Thomas, and Senior Analyst Teppo Lietsalmi, provided expert economic evidence during the arbitration proceedings, including at the interim measures hearing.
