Mr. Polonsky is an Associate Director in NERA’s Global Securities and Finance Practice. He has nearly 15 years of experience in disputes and matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), damages, and valuation for Fortune 500 companies, governmental institutions, and private companies. He has advised companies in a wide range of industries, including financial services, real estate, and health care. Mr. Polonsky has substantial experience analyzing and calculating damages from lost profits, breaches of fiduciary duty, capital structure changes, and allegations of aiding and abetting fraud.

Mr. Polonsky’s engagements include Delaware appraisal actions, international arbitrations, analyses of issues related to valuation, corporate governance, sale process evaluation, and the value of voting rights in dual-class companies.

Mr. Polonsky has extensive experience supporting academic experts and preparing them for deposition and trial testimony. This expert work includes litigation relating to customs and practice in private equity and venture capital, involving the manner in which investment firms evaluate new businesses, conduct due diligence, and monitor their portfolio companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Polonsky was an economist with an international economic consulting firm for 14 years. Previously, he was a financial analyst on the open market desk of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he worked on money supply forecasting and portfolio management.                                                            

Mr. Polonsky holds an MBA in finance and strategic management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in economics, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis.
