Experience

Marta Moro Crespo is a trusted economist with over 20 years of experience advising public and private clients on energy, climate change, and environmental regulation issues. She regularly provides reports and testimony during Spanish environmental and energy policy litigations.

Ms. Moro has evaluated renewable energy support schemes for various European and Latin American countries, studying the possibilities for improving the Spanish renewable energy support scheme and the contribution of renewable energy sources to peak demand supply and security of supply. She has also assessed the implications of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and analyzed environmental liability regulations and emissions limits for controlling air pollution in Spain. Ms. Moro evaluated Spain’s 2020 and 2030 renewable energy objectives and the regulatory requirements for a 2050 net zero greenhouse gas emissions economy.

Recently, Ms. Moro has worked on environmental taxation and green energy reforms by analyzing the taxation of energy products in Spain and providing advice on how to improve current consumer choice inefficiencies.

Ms. Moro has lectured on and co-authored articles spanning her areas of expertise, including on environmental taxation and the regulatory aspects of an efficient green energy transition.
