Scott Meadow is a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an Associate Partner at the Edgewater Funds, a Chicago-based private equity firm.
Professor Meadow has extensive testifying experience on a wide array of issues relating to private equity and venture capital, including:
Professor Meadow has been a principal investor in the private equity and venture capital industries for 40 years. He has approved hundreds of equity financings, having been responsible both for conducting due diligence and evaluating due diligence findings of others in order to make investment decisions. He has worked on transactions involving other large private equity and venture capital firms including Madison Dearborn Partners, Bain and Company, GTCR, Austin Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Professor Meadow has personally led, originated, or created more than 60 investments, including Coventry Corporation, HealthSouth, Sunrise Assisted Living, Sports Authority, Big Lots, Ulta Beauty, and Staples. His involvement with these companies included conducting due diligence prior to investing, monitoring the company after investing, and participating on the Board of Directors.
Professor Meadow has been a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth for 20 years. He has taught thousands of MBA students in courses on the financing of private equity and venture capital projects and the economic analyses and due diligence processes associated with analyzing, evaluating, and monitoring private enterprises. Professor Meadow was recognized for his teaching by Booth when he received the prestigious Booth Faculty Excellence Award.
Professor Meadow received the Richard J. Daley Medal, which acknowledges a single individual who has given direct and extraordinary support to the State of Illinois by participating in or being an advocate for the venture capital and private equity industry. Professor Meadow was also designated by Business Week’s “Guide to the Best Business Schools” as one of the outstanding entrepreneurial professors in the country.
Professor Meadow received his AB from Harvard College and his MBA at Harvard Business School.
