NERA Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska participated in the panel on Tax, Legal, and Regulatory Issues at the Structured Products Association's third annual conference on regulation of commodity linked structured products. Dr. Brown-Hruska discussed the US Treasury Department's request for public input on the structure of US regulation and what the potential costs and benefits are of merging the Commodity Futures Trading Commission with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The conference, held in New York City on 15-17 October 2007, also covered hedge fund linked structured products, new mutual fund products, exchange traded notes, and exchange traded funds.
