NERA's Global Transfer Pricing Practice, along with law firm Salans and customs specialist Heliée, hosted this roundtable in Paris on 20 May 2010 to examine tax, transfer pricing, and customs aspects for luxury and cosmetics multinational companies operating in Russia. NERA Director Dr. Emmanuel Llinares and Vice President Sébastien Gonnet contributed to the roundtable, highlighting key aspects of the transfer pricing environment in Russia. The roundtable addressed the status of the new, as-yet unfinalized transfer pricing regulations, as well as the most appropriate economic analysis in the Russian context. Dr. Llinares and Mr. Gonnet also highlighted the fact that multinational companies have several options in terms of transfer pricing structuring but not all have the same legal, tax, or customs consequences; and argued that a robust transfer pricing set-up is a prerequisite to launching any operations in Russia. Experts from Salans discussed tax considerations, while customs consequences were assessed by Heliée. Panelists from the luxury and cosmetics industry contributed,  by sharing their experiences in Russia.
