The credit crisis has had an unprecedented effect on securities litigation, and the use of expert analysis in various stages of securities class actions can be vital to the strategies employed and the results achieved. With this in mind, IQPC hosted a webinar on Tuesday, 26 April 2011, that examined the role of expert analysis in effectively litigating credit crisis-related lawsuits. NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Vinita Juneja discussed how to make effective use of experts in credit crisis litigation, including securities class actions and cases involving the sale of RMBS, CDOs, securities lending, CDSs, and structured products. Specifically, Dr. Juneja discussed current trends in the filings and settlements of credit crisis-related litigation; class certification-related analyses in credit crisis cases; the critical importance of loss causation in credit crisis-related claims; and new approaches to materiality testing and damage analyses in credit crisis cases.
