NERA Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska was the keynote speaker at a seminar hosted by Dechert LLP's Financial Services Practice in London on 9 June 2011. The seminar covered the historic regulatory overhaul of the United States and English over-the-counter derivatives markets. Now that the detailed rulemaking process is underway, this seminar explored what can be done to assess the risks and plan effectively for the challenges that derivatives regulatory reform will bring. Dr. Brown-Hruska discussed the the implications of the rule-makings for the global derivatives trade, concerns regarding the extraterritorial scope of the reforms, and the potential costs and risks associated with the implementation of the rules.
