In Washington, DC on 29 July 2011, the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) held a staff technical conference to discuss performance measurement of demand response in the PJM capacity market. PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and Washington, DC. NERA Vice President Jonathan Falk served as a panelist for a session examining the effect on capacity supply by demand responses on PJM's proposed altered rules on the measurement of emergency capacity response. Mr. Falk spoke on behalf of EnerNOC, a provider of technology-enabled energy management solutions and the largest curtailment service provider affected by the rules.
