NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Christine Siegwarth Meyer co-chaired Calculating & Proving Patent Damages, a Law Seminars International program that took place in Chicago, Illinois on 6-7 November 2014. Dr. Meyer and her program co-chair, David T. Pritikin of Sidley Austin LLP, opened the conference with an overview of the current state of the law with respect to governing patent damages calculation. Dr. Meyer also joined a panel session entitled "Calculating Market Shares and Other Issues in Lost Profits Calculations." In addition, NERA Vice President Dr. Anne Gron participated in a session entitled "How to Construct the Hypothetical Negotiation in Light of Recent Law," which addressed the requirements for demonstrating comparability since the ResQNet decision, as well as the current role of the "Book of Wisdom" concept in calculating damages.
