The BP (Deepwater Horizon) oil spill resulted in the largest Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) and the largest Natural Resource Damage (NRD) claim to date. NERA Senior Consultant Dr. Garrett Glasgow will join other panelists on the program, “The BP Oil Spill and Evolution of Natural Resource Damages,” to discuss the origins of NRD claims, how NRD claims are determined and valued, how they are litigated, and what the future of NRD claims and defenses will be in light of the BP oil spill. Dr. Glasgow’s presentation will focus on the various methods used by economists in valuing NRD claims and new ways in which these methods might be applied in future cases.
