NERA Associate Director Jorge Sanz participated in a panel discussion called “The Challenges of the Energy Transition: A Paradigm Shift,” organized by the Rafael del Pino Foundation. Mr. Sanz joined Vice President of the CNMC María Fernández Pérez and Jordi Sevilla, economist and President of Red Eléctrica in Spain, on the panel moderated by John Müller.

In this conversation, Mr. Sanz discussed the draft of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan, recently passed by the Spanish government. The Plan focuses on Spain’s energy transition and decarbonization. Mr. Sanz explained that Spain faces many challenges in meeting the Plan’s objectives, some of which will come together with the technological transition.
