NERA Managing Director Tomas Haug and Associate Director Dominik Hübler will speak at the (virtual) Network Regulation Day, organised by the BDEW, Germany’s association of energy network companies. The discussion will compare German and Swedish network regulation, assessing areas of similarity and divergence. Drawing on their experience as regulatory and due diligence advisors in numerous cases in both countries, Mr Haug and Mr Hübler will examine issues of which potential investors in either country need to be aware, covering, amongst other things, approaches to cost of capital estimation, definition of the asset base and outperformance opportunities, efficiency benchmarking, as well as some country-specific quirks. The session will also cover the respective local role of gas and how it is being incorporated into the regulatory framework for grids.
