Driven largely by the OECD’s BEPS Action Plan, the last decade has seen a huge increase in the number of tax disputes and audits. Although COVID-19 prompted a slowdown, activity is expected to rise again sharply as both tax authorities and taxpayers act under pressure to raise funds, escalating potential for disputes.

On 19 May 2021 at 12:35 pm BST, as part of the ITR Managing Global Tax Disputes Summit 2021, NERA Economic Consulting’s former Director Dr. Niraja Srinivasan will moderate the live panel discussion between NERA’s Head of Global Transfer Pricing Dr. Emmanuel Llinares; Erik Knijnenburg, Global Head of Tax & TP at H&M; Massimo Mojana, Head of Tax at IMI Hydronic Engineering; and Kamila Szydlowska, Senior Tax Director for EMEA at Bausch Health Companies Inc. The experts will lead a session on “Handling International Tax Disputes” and provide valuable insight into the key issues and developments encountered when handling such disputes using their extensive knowledge of the industry and consulting experience.

The experts will also deliberate on topics such as:

  • How BEPS has changed the transfer pricing controversy landscape;
  • New areas of transfer pricing audit; and
  • The organisation of future transfer pricing audits, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
