Associate Director Dr. Will Taylor shared his thoughts on today’s most pressing issues in regulatory economics during a lecture titled “Hot Topics in Economic Regulation” at the University of Canterbury Business School.
Dr. Taylor provided an overview of the economics of regulating natural monopolies, including what problems existing and how regulations attempt to solve them. He also discussed some of today’s most pressing questions in regulatory economics, including the proposed new regime for Three Waters in New Zealand and the changing role of electricity networks due to decarbonization.
