On 10 February 2022 at 11:10 GMT, NERA Director George Anstey—joined by experts from Frontier Economics and Aldersgate Group as part of the Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum—will participate in the UK Emissions Trading Scheme Conference in a session entitled “ETS Market Framework Design and Supporting Competition—Priorities for Cap and Trade Rules, Addressing Carbon Leakage Threats, and Implementing Market-Based Decarbonisation.”
In the panel discussion, Mr Anstey will discuss not only the role of ETS in supporting decarbonisation in energy-intensive industries and other key sectors, but also the next steps for implementation and operation, the wider challenge of supporting energy-intensive decarbonisation, and the potential for building international partnerships.
