Evaluating Claims of “Category Captain” Abuse in the Consumer Packaged Goods Market

NERA evaluated a small business’ claim that it was foreclosed from accessing marketplace sales volume because of the abuse of “category captain” status by NERA's client, a well-known consumer packaged goods company. We concluded the claim lacked merit, and the matter settled favorably.
