Assessing Biomass Conversion to Mitigate Damages from Coal Ban

On behalf of RWE’s power plant Eemshaven, NERA assessed whether it is economically viable to convert a coal-fired plant to using biomass by 2030 following announced permissions. We concluded the conversion from burning coal to biomass would cause losses.
