Dr. Claire Chunying Xie provides expert antitrust and intellectual property economic analysis and counsel to clients in industries such as in agriculture, consumer packaged goods, and pharmaceuticals. She has presented economic evidence before the US Department of Justice and has supported expert testimony in courts in the US. Dr. Xie manages and engages in all stages of economic research, from acquiring data and designing analyses, to writing expert reports and white papers, to presenting findings in person and virtually.
In antitrust, Dr. Xie has evaluated competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions and has estimated the economic implications of proposed asset divestitures aimed at resolving competitive concerns. Dr. Xie has also analyzed antitrust liability and estimated damages in litigation, managing cases involving alleged monopolization, abuses of market power, market definition, and coordinated conduct.
Dr. Xie has deep expertise in analyzing economic issues at the intersection of intellectual property and antitrust, including alleged abuses of the exclusivity conferred by patents and other intellectual property. She also has extensive experience calculating lost profits and reasonable royalty damages in intellectual property litigation involving infringement of patents.
