Francis Ostermeijer is an expert in econometrics and the economics of transport and cities, with substantial skill measuring and evaluating the quantitative impact of policies and interventions. He advises public and private sector clients on cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, impact evaluation, and damage assessment.

Dr. Ostermeijer worked for the Royal Academy of Engineering on social cost-benefit analysis of ventilation in UK buildings, a report widely publicized in policy and media circles and influential in the UK's “Living with COVID-19” response plan. He advised High Speed 2 on inflation forecasting, which was used during funding negotiations with the Department for Transport and HM Treasury. Dr. Ostermeijer also helped the Municipality of Amsterdam evaluate the impact of a major on-street parking price hike and worked with a top UK legal firm to estimate damages from a major European truck cartel.

Dr. Ostermeijer was the Principle Economic Researcher in the Spatial and Transport Impacts of Automated Driving project during the completion of his PhD in Economics. He has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Urban Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Geography, and Regional Science and Urban Economics.
