Tyler Hoppenfeld provides expert analysis and advice to clients on antitrust, competition, and regulatory issues. He applies microeconomic theory and empirical methods to assess competitive effects, market design, and policy interventions, particularly in markets shaped by platforms and centralized allocation mechanisms.

Dr. Hoppenfeld’s work focuses on understanding how imbalances in matching markets can lead to inefficiencies and distortions, informing the evaluation of competitive dynamics and regulatory outcomes.  

Before joining NERA, he held pre-doctoral research positions at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the National Bureau of Economic Research.
