Mr. Wieshammer provides advice to utilities, regulatory authorities, investors, and lawyers on various aspects of regulatory and financial economics. He specializes in the economic regulation of energy networks and transport infrastructure. He acts as an expert in appeals procedures on all aspects of economic regulation (e.g., the cost of capital, efficiency benchmarking, and unbundling) throughout Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Drawing on this experience, he regularly acts as a regulatory due diligence advisor to support infrastructure investors.
Mr. Wieshammer’s experience furthermore includes valuation, with a focus on the determination of lost profits in arbitral proceedings and litigations. For example, he supported the German state of Hesse against damage claims in the context of the German nuclear phase-out following the Fukushima disaster.
