David Ruiz specializes in the economics of antitrust, competition, and market design. He has analyzed economic issues in a variety of industries, including digital platforms, data markets and technology, healthcare, and consumer products. His research includes the economics of AI, matching-based market design, auctions, algorithmic pricing, machine learning, and econometric analysis.

Dr. Ruiz currently serves as the Young Economist Representative of the Pricing Conduct Committee to the ABA Antitrust Section. Skilled in data science and machine-learning methods for large, complex datasets, Dr. Ruiz uses creative and critical thinking skills to resolve strategic issues and tactical challenges based on state-of-the-art statistical methods to inform decision-making processes. During his PhD, Dr. Ruiz specialized in mathematics and game theory, with its application to industrial organization and market design.
