The Northwestern University School of Law hosted a two-day conference in Chicago on 7-8 June 2012 that examined the latest developments in competition regulation around the globe. Several experts from NERA's Global Antitrust and Competition Practice participated. On the first day, Senior Vice President Dr. Graeme Hunter served on a panel session focusing on "Multijurisdictional Merger Remedies: Strategies for Getting the Deal Done in the US and Abroad," and Vice President Dr. Anne Gron participated in a panel entitled "How Many Economists Does It Take To Try an Antitrust Case In or Outside the US?" On the second day, Vice President Dr. David Blackburn was a discussant in a panel session entitled "Antitrust Issues in the Strategic Acquisition and Use of Patents," and Special Consultant Professor Michael Baye was a discussant in a session entitled "Distribution Outside the US: Why so Different?" Other conference speakers included representatives from the US Federal Trade Commission, the US Department of Justice, the UK Office of Fair Trading, and the Canadian Competition Bureau.
