Questionnaire surveys are an important means of providing evidence in cases involving the infringement of patent rights and design rights (such as the cases of Apple, Samsung, Omron and Tanita), as well as violations of trademark laws and unfair competition laws (such as the cases of Torikizoku and Torijiro), and can be used in a variety of ways to prove the actual situation, scope and contribution to sales of the action in question; the actual usage of products by consumers in product liability; the workplace environment and actual working conditions in labor issues, etc.

The seminar was aimed at those who are interested in solving difficult problems by establishing proof and assessing value. It looked at recent case studies to examine various ways to use questionnaires from qualitative surveys of actual conditions to quantitative surveys such as value assessments on privacy.
