NERA Senior Consultant Dr. Alexandre Carbonnel will discuss the economic assessment of excessive pricing in light of the recent cases that have concerned the pharmaceutical industry in Europe. He will provide an overview of the methods used in practice by competition authorities in this context and highlight the pitfalls that may be encountered with these methods.

Dr. Carbonnel co-leads the Antitrust and Competition team in Paris. He has years of experience analyzing economic issues related to competition and regulatory investigations by the European Commission and national competition authorities in France and the UK. He also served as an expert consultant in major commercial litigation.

The breakfast and workshop will be held 8:30 am - 10:30 am, 5 July 2018 at the Salons de l’Hôtel des Arts et Métiers. Other speakers include Frédéric Jenny, chairman of the OECD Competition Committee; Alessandra Tonazzi, director of international and European affairs at the Italian Competition Authority; and Olivier Fréget, partner at Fréget Tasso de Panafieu.
