On 22 April, Senior Consultant/Principal Joel Davis will participate in the Next Steps for the UK Emissions Trading Scheme Conference hosted by the Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum. The conference will discuss policy priorities and address industry challenges, including expansion plans for the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to include domestic shipping and energy from waste.

Mr. Davis will speak in a session titled “Priorities for Aligning UK ETS with Net Zero Objectives and Opportunities for UK Leadership” alongside Herbert Smith Freehills LLP Senior Associate Jannis Bille. The panel will address:

• Aligning the cap to be consistent with net zero objectives;
• Implementing carbon pricing mechanisms; and
• Understanding and maximising the role of the UK ETS amongst wider climate policy.
