As offshore wind ambitions increase in Germany and Europe, the sector wrestles with an altered macroeconomic environment, supply chain bottlenecks, and evolving regulatory provisions. To achieve increased offshore wind targets, stakeholders must address a variety of risks and challenges in the near- to long-term.
On 19 September at 15:30 CEST, Consultant Leonie Janisch will present findings from her recent report in a webinar alongside experts from Agora Energiewende. The report, co-authored by Director Dominik Hübler, provides a comprehensive analysis of the major challenges to offshore wind ambitions and puts forth potential solutions to effectively steer the expansion of offshore wind power back on track in the medium term. The panel will address the following questions:
- What measures can be implemented in the short term and what needs to be done to ensure the medium and long-term goals are achieved?
- What measures can be implemented and what policy-level actions are required to effectively support the acceleration of the ramp-up process?
- How can Germany deepen cooperation with its neighbors to make better use of infrastructure and accelerate expansion?
