The session will cover economic analysis in shareholder class actions, trends in US securities class actions practice that might impact the Canadian landscape, and the outlook for the next several years. In addition, it will cover the developing jurisprudence relating to forward-looking information defense in misrepresentation cases and best practices for pre-leave evidence gathering in secondary market actions. The discussion will also address recent judgments relating to economic issues in securities class actions and their implications for market efficiency and risk assessment.
