On 16 May 2025, Consultant Leonie Janisch presented on key questions surrounding German and European offshore wind tender designs at the Strommarkttreffen Energy Roundtable in Berlin.

Ms. Janisch discussed the challenges of meeting ambitious offshore wind expansion targets amid changing market conditions, rising project costs, and investment uncertainty. She examined the growing importance of subsidies, particularly Contracts for Difference (CfDs), and qualitative tender criteria to support project development and sustainability objectives. The presentation also addressed potential impacts of regionally differentiated grid tariffs in Germany, the harmonization of European tender designs, and the implications of cross-border cooperation for offshore wind investments.
