On 25 June, Director Marco Schönborn will present in a panel discussion titled “Gas Geopolitics and Security in an Age of Disruption” at the CEDIGAZ Seminar 2026 in Paris. The global gas market is entering a new phase: well-supplied yet geopolitically exposed. LNG capacity is expanding, liquidity has returned, and supply is no longer the primary constraint. Risk has shifted to concentrated supply sources, critical shipping routes, and vulnerable infrastructure. Middle East tensions underscore the potential for disruption despite ample supply. This session explores the implications for Europe, including supply security, price volatility, infrastructure investment, and policy challenges. How should Europe define energy security in a well-supplied but increasingly exposed market?
Mr. Schönborn will speak alongside International Energy Agency (IEA) Gas Analyst Greg Molnár, La Vraie Histoire du Gaz author Didier Holleaux, and Blue Water Strategy Senior Advisor Cyril Widdershoven.
