On 4 June, Managing Director Robert Patton will speak at “Geopolitical Trigger Event: Preparing for the Next Wave of Investment Treaty Claims” during a virtual seminar hosted by Volterra Fietta in the context of London International Disputes Week (LIDW). Volterra Fietta is a law firm based in London that specializes in public international law and international dispute resolution. The seminar will examine how geopolitical tensions, economic disruption, and the increasing use of emergency regulatory measures by states are reshaping the landscape of investor-state disputes. Mr. Patton’s talk will explore how geopolitical disruptions affect valuation methodologies, causation analysis, damages modeling, and future cash flow assumptions. It will also explore sanctions-related losses, political risk discounting, and valuation uncertainty in unstable markets.

Mr. Patton will speak alongside Volterra Fietta Founding Partner Robert Volterra and Counsel Florentine Vos and Head of McNair International Khawar Qureshi KC.
