On 18 May, Senior Consultant/Principal Joel Davis will speak in a session titled “Compliance Meets Voluntary: The Future of Carbon Markets” at Oman Sustainability Week 2026 in Muscat, Oman. The session will explore how voluntary and compliance carbon markets are converging into a more integrated global framework and what this could mean for climate finance, market transparency, and progress toward net zero. It will also address key challenges, including policy misalignment, varying quality standards, and geopolitical fragmentation. Mr. Davis will speak alongside Shell Senior Carbon Pricing Policy Advisor Malek Al-Chalabi and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Director Mahamadou Tounkara.
